There has been a great response to our DMS GRITS Club, Girls Raised in Tennessee Sciences, will meet for the first time on Tuesday, September 30th.  Please pick-up and application from your science teacher.  At our sixth grade campus, turn those in to the office; at our 7th and 8th grade campus, they should be turned-in to Mrs. Kelley in Room 105.

The Fire Prevention Poster deadline is fast approaching.  Posters will be picked-up Wednesday, September 24th.  Both Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Dana Miller have graciously offered to collect posters from students desiring to enter. Don’t forget there are prizes for the winners.

Dickson Middle School will hold open tryouts for boys’ basketball on Monday, September 29th and Tuesday, September 30th.  Forms to attend must be signed by parents.  They will be in the offices. Tryouts will take place at Dickson Middle School gym from 6 to 8 p.m.  Sign-in will begin at 5:30.

On Tuesday, September 30th at 6 P.M., there will be an information meeting about the 8th grade Washington, D.C. trip.  Students, if you are interested in being a part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience, please invite your parents to attend.

There will be a FCA afterschool huddle on Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 3-5:30.

Congratulations to the cross country team. They were very successful at their meet last night in Fairview. Both teams had a perfect score of 15. This is the lowest score a cross country team can have in a meet. It is achieved by placing runners in the top five places in the race.  The teams run next Tuesday at Buckner Park starting at 4 pm. We want to offer an invitation to all of the faculty, staff, and students here at DMS to come watch these athletes in action. There is no admission fee for the meet. The weather will be beautiful, and the races will be over in about 45 minutes. Hope to see all of you there!

Lady Dragon Soccer victories over Fairview. Varsity won 4-3. Jv won 4-0. The 8th grade players were recognized last at the last regular season game. They will go on to the tournament next Saturday in Fairview. Good luck Lady Dragons.

Next week is Spirit Week!  Monday is American day, show your spirit by wearing red, white, and blue.
