Our soccer team travels to Sycamore this Friday and Saturday for a conference tournament. I know you will do well.
Congratulations to our students who competed in yesterday’s Austin Peay Middle Math Contest. Your math teachers said that you did well, and I know it was a great experience for you to see other students compete and how well they did. Remember, those are some of the students against whom you will later be competing for scholarships and college entrance.
Any 8th grade Beta Club members wishing to help with Prom Planning will meet today after school in Room 114 until 4pm.
Beta Club members still needing service hours are encouraged to attend tomorrow night's event at Reading Rocks Books in downtown Dickson. Award winning authors will be performing a show and discussing books, writing and the transition of a book to a movie experience. All DMS students are welcome to attend. Dickson County wants to show their appreciation for young adult writers and we need to have a huge turnout to support this local business. Beta Club members should stop by Room 114 for a flyer with more information to share with their friends and others within the Dickson Community. The event starts at 5:30 tomorrow night.
7th grade Math Academy will be meeting in the computer lab in Room 113 after the 2nd bell.
Tomorrow several of our students will be competing in Special Olympics at Creekwood. We are very proud of you, and I look forward to being there tomorrow and watching you compete.
Next week all of you will be competing against yourselves. Your real goal on TCAP is simply to do better than you did last year, to show growth. It doesn’t matter how those around you perform in relation to you, only your improvement is what matters. After a year of quality instruction, that is attainable for each of you.
